Norway's KVELERTAK: 'We Actually Want People To LIKE Our Music'
May 6, 2007In a refreshing change from the usual dour pronouncements that tend to come out of the Norwegian music scene, KVELERTAK guitarist Bjarte admits that his band actually does want people to like its music. "We want to play catchy and immediate, unpretentious and fun, yet brutally and totally super-necro, black metal and trash-inspired punk rock, with a pop-orientated approach," he says. "We actually want people to LIKE our music and we care less about integrity."
So far the band has preferred to remain totally DIY, with the members recording and producing their own demos; which is not so much a case of financial expediency (although obviously this is a factor),as much as a desire to establish the distinctive KVELERTAK trademark sound.
The five-piece, which hails from Norway's West Coast, has been playing together for around half a year now, and has already gathered a loyal following due to its live performances and the KVELERTAK innate sense of fun.
